Executive function

Executive functions are cognitive processes that enable goal-directed behaviour, including working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibitory control. Deficits in executive functioning are common across various child and adolescent mental health disorders, including ADHD, autism, and depression. Interventions targeting executive function skills can improve overall functioning and mental health outcomes in youth.
